“Nature and wildlife have always been a passion of mine and an inherent part of my painting practice. My work explores the patterns of nature and the inherent beauty of ancient field systems, their scale and place within our landscape. I use many layers of thin glazes to achieve a vibrancy of colour and overlay patterns to create depth and fractal imagery. I saw how inextricably birds are linked to the shape of the landscape they inhabit. The trees that shelter and feed them are a part of their very being and I found a way to express this through my composition and form in my work.”
