Alan Cotton is represented internationally by Messum's Fine Art in Cork Street, London. He has work in the Royal Collection and those of Lord Carnarvon, Dame Glynis Breakwell and actors, Sheila Hancock, John Nettles and Art Malik, and in public collections worldwide.
Alan is President Emeritus and a founding member of the South West Academy. In 2006 the University of Exeter awarded him an Honorary Doctorate (D.Litt) for ‘…outstanding contribution to the Arts' and in September 2011 he was appointed Hon. Professor for the Arts at the University of Bath. He has been both presenter and the subject of 30 minute Arts programmes for both BBC and ITV.
Alan has accompanied his Royal Highness the Prince of Wales as Tour Artist to Sri Lanka, Fiji, Australia and New Zealand. He travelled as Expedition Artist to Mount Everest with explorer Sir David Hempleman-Adams in 2011. A Retrospective exhibition of his work was staged at the University of Bath, opened by HRH The Earl of Wessex and at the RAMM in Exeter, from June to November 2015.
